Call for Action: Urge your Senators to support legislation to benefit our industry

Senior members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship have introduced the Prioritized Paycheck Protection Program (P4) Act to Congress. The bill authorizes new lending under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to small businesses with 100 employees or fewer, including sole proprietors and self-employed individuals. Very soon, the Senate will also be considering:

- granting 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organizations (such as ESTA!) access to the PPP;

- reauthorizing the PPP until at least until December 31, 2020;

- passing the Pandemic Risk Insurance Act of 2020, which would establish a system of shared public and private compensation for business interruption losses and event cancellations resulting from future pandemics or public health emergencies;

- passing the Skills Renewal Act, which would provide Americans who have been laid off or furloughed owing to COVID-19 a $4,000 tax credit to pursue post-secondary skills training and career development;

-passing the House Heroes Act to extend the unemployment benefits of the CARES Act.

It is imperative to urge your legislators to fund these bills and provisions. If we do not take action, neither will they. Enter your information and click "Start Writing" to access a letter template and be matched with your Senators.
